Taftsville, Vermont is the home of Vermont’s second longest covered bridge. Built in 1836, this timber-framed covered bridge spans the Ottauquechee River, and is one of Vermont’s oldest covered bridges. In 2011, this bridge was severely damaged by Hurricane Irene but managed to remain standing; it was closed for repairs for two years until its re-opening September of 2013.
